Would be much easier to decide if I could see the covers. :-)
Wow. That'll be a tall order, but I'll work on it.
American Gods or Good Omens.
Yes, I'm aware neither are on the list. I don't care and if you listen to me I promise you won't regret it :)
ALRIGHT. Don't twist my arm. If I must pick something not Gaiman and thus on the list I pick The Time Traveler's Wife...I've been wanting to read that...
:)
How nice that I didn't even need to say anything to twist your arm. American Gods is on my list of books I'd like to read and the library even carries it, but I'd really like to stick to one of these books since they're already on my bookshelf.
In order:
1. Clash of Kings
2. The Peshwar Lancers (it's been on my "want" list for a few years.)
3. Acacia (really, really, realy good)
2 recommendations from me:
4. World War Z (zombies rule)
5. The Briar King
What was I thinking when I asked for recommendations? I should have known that the six readers I have would all say something different. At least the list will be shorter to choose from.
Now that I have seen the covers (always important) I still vote for The Time Traveler's Wife, but give runner up status to The Lost City Of Z and then Acacia (great titles - both).
I also veto (permanently) without having read a word - The Stepsister Scheme.
:)
Harsh words there for Stepsisters. But I'll ponder everyone's votes today and decide soon.
I may be late in the process, but I'd vote for Clash of Kings. I'd also second the American Gods recommendation.
Oh, and I'd be personally pleased if you'd give Acacia a shot.;)
Go for Acacia. It is on my summer reading list too....
